Your Emergency Dental Visit: A Quick Walk-Through

If you have a toothache or dental pain and it’s getting worse, it’s time to call Highgrove Dental Care to arrange an emergency dental appointment before your condition worsens. Dental emergencies can be particularly worrisome if you do not yet have a dentist in Saint Paul. Don’t worry. We are here to help.

Here is a quick walk-through of what to expect when you arrive for your emergency dental appointment.

We Will Discuss Your Symptoms

Whether it’s on the phone or when you arrive, we will discuss your symptoms and when they started. These questions are not to judge you, but to gather vital information to help you feel better fast.

  • Where is the pain?
  • Is it affected by heat?
  • When did it start?
  • Did something cause it?
  • Is there bleeding, a bad taste, or pus?
  • Did the tooth suffer from trauma like a sports injury or auto accident?

Our Team Will Take an X-Ray

Many conditions are not visible by looking inside the mouth. Dental x-rays help us see what is beneath the surface and assist with an accurate diagnosis. We use digital x-rays, which are ultra safe and low in radiation.

Emergency Evaluation

Your dentist will perform an exam and review the x-ray to provide you with an accurate diagnosis. We will then go over his findings and explain everything to you. His gentle approach and kind manner with patients can take the stress out of a dental emergency.

Pain-Relief and Treatment

The purpose of an emergency dental appointment is to solve your immediate pain and provide a solution for you during your visit. Some emergency treatments can be completed at your appointment. Others will require a follow-up visit. Either way, you will leave more comfortable and with the answers you need.

Dental emergencies are a priority in our Saint Paul dental office. Don’t live with pain. Give us a call at the first sign of trouble.
