What should I do during a dental emergency?
Dental emergencies seem to occur at the worst time – during sleep, while at work, or even while traveling. If you experience a dental emergency and you are a patient in our Saint Paul dental office, the best approach is to give us a call right away. We will make every effort to get you in for an appointment quickly.
Letting dental pain go untreated can result in more serious conditions – and even tooth loss.
You may decide to take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication, such as ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), to manage pain until we can treat your condition. Though this will provide relief in the short term, your pain will often come back once it wears off and this doesn't solve the underlying problem, so don’t put off your emergency dental appointment. We can help you feel like yourself again.
When you call, we will ask you for important information including when the pain started, anything that you can think of that may have caused the problem, and where the pain is located in your mouth. The information we gather will help us prepare for your arrival at Highgrove Dental Care so that we can make the most of your time while you are with us.
We are here for you when you need us most, so please feel free to contact us at any time.
